Our Mission

The Rockford Mass Transit District is dedicated to providing safe, efficient, affordable, dependable and accessible transportation to the residents of Rockford and the surrounding area.

No Bus Service on July 4th

In observance of the holiday, there will be no bus service on Saturday, July 4, 2009 for Rockford Mass Transit, Rockford Paratransit and Stateline Mass Transit.

Regular service will resume on Sunday, July 5, 2009 for Rockford and on Monday, July 6, 2009 for Stateline Mass Transit.

Pick up time changes

Effective immediately: please note the following time changes to the #36 Perryville/Alpine route. New pick up times are as follows:

Walmart E. State: 625p, 725p, 825p, 925p, 1025p
CherryVale/Magic Waters: 630p, 730p 830p, 930p 1030p

Paper Tickets No Longer Accepted

Attention all passengers Effective May 31, 2009 RMTD stopped accepting paper tickets of any kind. Effective June 1, 2009, all RMTD fareboxes accept only cash or electronic tickets. Paper tickets including single ride tickets, discounted fare single ride tickets and 10 ride tickets are no longer considered acceptable fares. Therefore, if any passenger still holding paper tickets must do one of the following immediately.

Single ride paper tickets must be exchanged for electronic tickets. Passengers will have until June 15, 2009 to make the exchange of any outstanding paper single ride tickets. After June 15th, all paper single ride tickets are null and void for any RMTD transaction.
Passengers with paper 10-ride tickets that have not been punched and are unused will have until June 15, 2009 to exchange these tickets for the new electronic 10 ride ticket. After June 15 all paper 10 ride tickets are null and void for any RMTD transaction.
Passengers with paper 10-ride tickets that have been punched may exchange that ticket for comparable value electronic tickets until June 15, 2009. After June 15th all paper 10 ride tickets are null and void for any RMTD transaction.
